Birdie Update

Sorry guys.. been lazy to update my blog... but I've do it for the birdies.

Remember it was a pair? But.... after 2 days, it became only one. Wonder where the other went. It probably was dead already. We found out that these small birds eat fruits and insects. So, it's unlikely that the parents ate their child.

The only one left was asking for food everyday. Then one morning, I saw it... and in the evening it was gone. We were quite surprised that it can start to fly so soon. So, now the nest is empty already, and they never came back.

Waiting for another family to take over the nest. Hahaha...

Mummy.. I want food... wek...wek..wek...

Hmmmmm.. what's this handphone doing? Everyday, it comes near my nest. :(

The morning before it flew away. The feathers quite a lot already, but still not that much. It managed to fly in the afternoon.

Painting Works

I painted my room on Saturday.  Spent a day to paint the whole room!!  I woke up at 830am and went to buy paint from the shop at Toa Payoh Lor 4, who has ICI Dulux paint.  That's the paint my friend recommended.  My house downstairs shop only sell Nippon Paint.

So many selections, what a headache.  Anyway, I insisted on using the ICI Dulux paint.  Hahaha..

Went there and bought the ICI Dulux Light & Space series, the colour I got was Powder Puff.  It's a pink shade. ;)

And then was looking for dark brown for the one side of my wall, but can't find any.  How come the catalogue has so few colours to choose from?  I remember last time my dad show me those catalogues with many many colours.

Anyway, then saw a dark purple which looks quite cool.  It's called Grape Vine.  That's what I ended up buying too.  Bought the 1 litre can.

So, went home to start preparing for the painting work.  Didn't take picture.  I had to shift all the furniture to the middle of the room.  Luckily, I've no bed now!! and I've gotten rid of my wardrobes.

Next, is to paste newspaper and masking tape to the rim of the flooring.  Like that I can just anyhow paint, and no need to paint slowly when I reach the corners.  Sticking newspapers is also not easy, gotta squat and move and stick, while moving around the whole room!!

After that, I started to paint... and realised that I should have sticked masking tape to the door, and also to the windows.  Anyway, never mind lah... Don't care already.  

After painting one layer of paint, I was quite exhausted already.  Had a rest and drank water.  Then I proceeded with the 2nd coat.   After that I started with the Grape Vine (dark purple) on that panel of wall.  Didn't stick masking tape to the side.. sigh.. so....... not very even lor.  From far can't see though.

Maybe next weekend will try masking tape it and use small paint brush to brush over touch up a bit.

Now I just need to wait for new bed and new wardrobes to arrive.  Hehe... The room looks like still got a lot of things now.  But they are going to be thrown away.  Especially those plasstic drawers!!  So un-cool.  Hehehe.. Take a look.

Neh.... My computer and TV is there.. beside the window.  And I sit on the mattress while playing with my com and watching TV.  Hahaha...

That's going to change when my new bed and wardrobes arrive.  Then, we'll figure out how to re-arrange the furniture.  Oh ya.. I gotta get new curtains too.

That little space there... in front of the wooden box... is where my mattress is going to be.  And the ugly little plastic drawers are going to be gone soon.  Yippee....  Anyone wants them?  Just let me know.  Arrange your own transport.  :D  Looks crowded here?

This is the look from the mattress to the door.  Hahaha.. empty!  That shelve there is also going to be removed from the room.  Hmmm.. Or next time can put under my table for me to 'long geok'.  Hahaha... 

Birds Grow So Fast

Oooh.. more photos today and even a video...

Only 2nd day.. can see the wing like much bigger.. they also are more actively asking for food. The first day was sleeping most of the time.

Still Eggs....

It's been 2 weeks plus.. and the bird's nest still showing eggs only.  Maybe it'll start hatching in another week's time?  So excited to see the little birdies...

Let's take a look at a photo taken today.  No difference from the first day!!!  Hahaha... Is the eggs darker coloured now?  Or have more spots? Spot the Difference...... hahahaha..

It's been a long time since I last blogged.  Also, my blogskin has changed.... sobz.. I need to re-format everything again.  Sigh... That was due to my itchy hands.  Ended up my template went missing.  I should have kept a copy of my template first.  But I didn't.  Now I even have to re-link all my friends!!  Give me your URL in my tagboard for a faster re-link. :D  Thank you Thank you.....

Anyway, today we want to talk about birds.  There's a little bird who built a nest outside of my office little tree.  Oooh.. and today I found out that it layed 2 eggs!!!

See see.. I took photo of the nest on Monday, there was no eggs.  Today there are 2.  So cool.  I even managed to take a picture of the little bird.. who flew to the next door neighbour's tree when and 'monitoring' me while I walked passed her little nest.

Hope to see the little birds soon.. yippeee.... Woooo.. so exciting.
