Lo Hei on 元宵节

Today is the last day of Chinese New Year.. We had ur company lunch at Min Jiang at One North. Booked the table since last week and also pre-booked one full Peking Duck.. yum yum..

Let's take a look at the photos.. hehehe..

~ The Menu ~

This is the set we chose... 'Bless'.. it cost $68 per pax.

Our appetizer.. is preserved coconut... haha.. Usually it is peanuts or pickles.. This is the first time I see coconut as appetizer. My boss went to dip it in chilli sauce... hahahaha..First dish.. of course is the most important dish of Chinese New Year... 鱼生.. Huat ah... Wish business good ah, a lot of money ah.. wish Claire get a husband ah....

This is called "Prosperity Salmon Yu Sheng".

The chinese name is more meaningful - 鸿运起捞起.

Then.. it's Shark's Fin!! Yum Yum...
"Braised Superior Shark's Fin Soup" - "大展鸿图 (红烧中鲍翅)"Boss doesn't eat Shark's Fin.. he said we shouldn't support that... and it's cruel... So, he and Mergie opted for Sweet & Sour Soup instead. Looks yummy too...Prawns after that... it's a bit too salty though...
"Prawns in Two Ways" One was in chilli sauce.. and one in cornflakes.

After that our duck is ready!!!! The main 'cast' - 主角
Only half?? Thought got one?? We ta bao half.. and eat half here.. hehe..

After the chef cut nicely and wrap nicely.. this is how it looks like... It's served in 2 ways.. one the traditional way, with that sauce, spring onion and cucumber. Another way is the Sichuan way.. with garlic paste, cucumber, pickle. Both are nice...

Followed by the Braised Abalone with Home-made Tofu. "包你发财". Wah.. the name so nice..

By now.. we are all very very full already.. 3 more to go....... Let's move on....

Next, is Braised Chicken Roll with Assorted Vegetable in Chef's Secret Sauce. Tell you hor.. the assorted veggie is the brocolli..and that few 'strands' of salad. Also there was something wrapped in the chicken.. looks like radish or carrots. Just 2 sticks like that. :) Also quite salty. They seem to like to add a lot of salt leh...

"金鸡报喜" - hmmm... 金鸡? Any connection to as the movie that 吴君如 starred in? Hahaha...

Following this... we were suppose to have Shanghainese Nian Gao.. We decided to tabao... and in the end.. i brought the whole box home for dinner.. it's very yummy. Maybe coz of the XO sauce...

And then we had dessert also.. it's 汤圆. Just ONE hor... in pumpkin soup... I think ginger soup will be nicer.. maybe it cost so much per pax... they had to use better ingredients... and pumpkins are more auspicious? The name was called 金彩团圆.

Tonight suppose to go throw oranges into the lake ah.... to bring good love fortune. But told my friend.. where got lake here in Singapore? Later kena FINED ah... And we got a lot of canals lor.. big one... smelly and dirty.. some more got people drowned in canals before one.. Better don't anyhow throw.. later attract the wrong 'people' home... hahahaha....

Anyway.. it's a nice day to have Lo Hei... Hope my boss company do well.... then we'll get big big bonus.... And, also for me to find a good 姻缘, and be married hor? Hahaha.. Everyone also say like that....

Boss wife more cute, say don't marry too rich de husband.. if not, then I cannot work for the company liao... I said can lah.. marry rich enough one.. no need use my money one... and I can still work mah.... Hmmm.... Suddenly I think.. marry one husband who can stay beside my boss one.. wakakaka.. then I can go to work next door!! Hahahaha...
